Legal information
Cookie policy
This website runs on the bare minimum. No non-essential cookie and no third-party script is loaded before you have explicitly accepted it: until you consent, the contact form remains replaced by an activation button.
1. Cookies and local storage: what are we talking about?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website and sent back to the server on subsequent visits. Local storage (localStorage) serves a similar function, except that the information stays in your browser and is never transmitted to the server.
Both techniques are subject to the same rules: Article 129 of the Belgian Act of 13 June 2005 on electronic communications requires your prior consent, except where the information is strictly necessary to deliver the service you have requested.
2. Our approach
- Nothing is stored before consent. Third-party scripts — the HubSpot form and the 3CX live chat — are injected into the page only once you have given your agreement, category by category.
- Rejecting is as easy as accepting. The “Reject all” and “Accept all” buttons have the same presentation and the same visual weight.
- Nothing is pre-ticked. Every non-essential category is disabled by default.
- No advertising cookies. We do no targeted advertising, sell no data and share nothing with ad networks.
- Your choice can be reversed at any time using the “Manage cookies” button in the footer of every page.
3. Detailed inventory
3.1 Strictly necessary — no consent required
This information is essential for the site to work and to remember your own choices. It is stored by our website, in your browser, and is never passed to a third party.
| Name | Type | Issuer | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
cf_consent | Local storage | cyber-forensics.eu | Stores your consent choices per category, together with the date and version of those choices | 6 months |
cf_lang | Local storage | cyber-forensics.eu | Stores the display language you selected (FR / NL / EN) | Until browsing data is cleared |
3.2 HubSpot contact form — subject to your consent
If you enable this category, the contact form hosted by HubSpot is loaded. HubSpot may then set the following cookies, which allow your enquiry to be linked to your visit and guard against automated submissions:
| Name | Type | Issuer | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
hubspotutk | Third-party cookie | HubSpot | Identifies the visitor so that a submitted form can be linked to the contact history | 6 months |
__hstc | Third-party cookie | HubSpot | Records the origin of the visit, the first and the most recent visit | 6 months |
__hssc | Third-party cookie | HubSpot | Identifies the current browsing session | 30 minutes |
__hssrc | Third-party cookie | HubSpot | Determines whether the visitor has restarted their browser | Session |
__cf_bm | Third-party cookie | Cloudflare, on behalf of HubSpot | Distinguishes human visitors from bots in order to protect the form | 30 minutes |
This list matches the standard cookies of the HubSpot forms module. As HubSpot may change its product, names and durations are liable to vary; the current reference is published by the vendor in its knowledge base.
3.3 3CX live chat — subject to your consent
If you enable this category, the live chat window is loaded from downloads-global.3cx.com and connects to our 3CX phone system (cyberpraxis.3cx.be).
The module is published by:
- Publisher3CX Limited
- Address4, Markou Drakou, Engomi — 2409 Nicosia, Cyprus
- Registration numberHE 173409
- Telephone+357 22 060790
- Websitewww.3cx.com
- Privacy3cx.com/company/privacy-policy
This module sets no cookie on the cyber-forensics.eu domain. It does, however, keep the identifier and state of the current conversation in your browser's local storage, so that the conversation is not lost if you change page or reload the site. A persistent connection (WebSocket) to the phone system is maintained for the duration of the chat.
The content of your messages is handled as an ordinary enquiry: see the privacy policy for purposes and retention periods.
Recommendation. As with the form, do not use the chat to send confidential material or case documents. Describe your situation in general terms; we will then agree on an appropriate channel.
3.4 Audience measurement and marketing — not enabled
These two categories appear in the preferences panel but no tool is currently attached to them: the site contains neither an analytics solution nor an advertising tracker. They are provided for future use; were such a tool to be added, this page would be updated and your consent sought beforehand.
4. Typefaces (Google Fonts)
For the sake of transparency: the site's typefaces are currently served by Google Fonts. That service sets no cookie, but rendering the page involves a request to Google's servers, which thereby receives your IP address and your browser's technical characteristics.
This request occurs when the page loads, hence before any action on your part. We plan to host these typefaces on our own server in order to remove that third-party call; this page will be updated once that is done.
5. Changing or withdrawing your choices
5.1 From the website
The “Manage cookies” button, present in the footer of every page, reopens the preferences panel. You can enable or disable each category there and then save. Withdrawal takes effect immediately: the scripts concerned are no longer loaded on the next render.
Withdrawing your consent prevents new cookies from being set but does not delete those already present on your device. To remove them, use your browser's settings.
5.2 From your browser
You can configure your browser at any time to block cookies, to warn you when they are set, or to delete those already stored. The procedures are described in each browser's help, generally under “Settings” then “Privacy” or “Browsing data”. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent certain features of the site from working properly.
6. How long your consent lasts
Your choices are kept for six months. After that period the banner reappears so that you can decide again. It also reappears if you clear your browser's browsing data, or if we change the list of trackers used.
Not responding to the banner counts as a refusal: in the absence of an explicit choice, no non-essential category is enabled.
